प्रदेश कांग्रेस के अध्यक्ष करण सिंह माहरा ने पत्रकारों से बातचीत में कहा कि अंबेडकर की पुण्य तिथि पर कांग्रेस कार्यकर्ताओं का आहवान किया कि अंबेडकर को सच्ची श्रद्धांजलि देने के लिए संविधान की रक्षा का संकल्प ले। वहीं उन्होंने प्रदेश में बिगड़ती कानून व्यवस्था के लिए डीजीपी को दोषी मानते हुए उनसे स्तीफे की मांग की है।
प्रदेश कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष करण माहरा ने कहा कि आज जिस तरीके से अभिव्यक्ति की आजादी पर प्रहार हो रहा है वह चिंता का विषय है। उन्होंने कहा कि ऐसे में चौथा स्तंभ भी खतरे में है, लेखकों पत्रकारों को जेल में डाला जा रहा है ऐसा लग रहा है कि देश में अघोषित आपातकाल लगा दिया गया है। इस लिए संविधान की रक्षा का संकल्प लिया गया है। उन्होंने कहा कि राहुल गांधी की भारत जोड़ो यात्रा से देश में कांग्रेस मजबूत हो रही है। उन्होंने प्रदेश की कानून व्यवस्था के बारे में कहा कि जब प्रदेश का डीजीपी किसी मामले में संलिप्त हो ऐसे में किस पर भरोसा किया जाय। हर रोज हत्यायें हो रही हैं वहीं महिलाओं के साथ दुर्ष्कम हो रहे हैं, आतंकवादियों को उत्तर प्रदेश की पुलिस पकड़ रही है। व जो कानून व्यवस्था सुधारने की बात कर रहे हैं जो अंकिता भंडारी को न्याय दिलाने की बात कर रहे हैं उन पर डीजीपी कड़ी कार्रवाई की बात कर रहे हैं। यह गांधी की भूमि है पुलिस आंदोलन दबाने का प्रयास करेगी तो कांग्रेस उनके साथ खड़े होकर पुलिस को पुष्प भेंट करेगी। जब डीजीपी कुछ नहीं कर पा रहे हैं तो उन्हें स्तीफा दे देना चाहिए, स्वयं कानून व्यवस्था सुधर जायेगी।
प्रदेश में कांग्रेस की गुटबाजी पर प्रदेश अध्यक्ष माहरा ने कहा कि कांग्रेस में कोई गुटबाजी नहीं है लेकिन सभी अपने स्तर पर कांग्रेस को मजबूत करने का कार्यक्रम कर रहे हैं। सैन्यधाम का नाटक करने वाली भाजपा की सरकार शहीद सैनिकों का अपमान करने में लगी है। उन्होंने कहा कि भाजपा में गुटबाजी है प्रदेश के पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री त्रिवेंद्र रावत व तीरथ सिंह रावत खुद प्रदेश सरकार पर आरोप लगा रहे हैं। उन्होंने कहा कि आने वाले समय में कांग्रेस प्रदेश में कैडर बेस पार्टी होगी। उन्होंने कहा कि भाजपा सरकार चाहे केंद्र की हो या प्रदेश की उनका ध्यान विकास पर नही, बेरोजगारी पर नहीं वह तो जनता का ध्यान बांटने के लिए कभी धर्म की बात करती है कभी हिंदू मुस्लिम करती है लेकिन आने वाले समय में लोग इसको समझेंगे व कांग्रेस को मजबूत करेंगे।
