उन्होंने रेल मंत्री से अनुरोध किया कि किच्छा-खटीमा रेल लाइन की संपूर्ण लागत भारत सरकार द्वारा वहन की जाए। उन्होंने रामनगर-हरिद्वार-देहरादून के बीच सीधी रेल सेवा संचालित करने की भी अपेक्षा की। मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि पूर्णागिरी मेले की शेष अवधि में देश के विभिन्न स्थानों से आने वाले श्रद्धालुओं के लिए दिल्ली, मथुरा व लखनऊ से टनकपुर के लिए पर्याप्त रेल सेवाओं का संचालन किया जाए।
